Puparia on upper and undersides of the leaves. They are ± 1 mm, black, flat, almost circular with a very short, translucent fringe of wax-hairs. The central disk is surrounded by a marginal area, separated by a distinct furrow. Adults have two irregular purplish zig-zag transversal bands on the fore wing.
