Aphis brohmeri Börner, 1952
on Anthriscus (etc.?)
parasite
Apterae 2-3 mm, dark purplish brown. Immatures have no discrete pleural wax spots (cf. fabae). Colonies low down on the stems and in the leaf sheaths.
host plants
Apiaceae, ? monophagous
Anthriscus nitidus, sylvestris.
Also recorded from other Apiaceae (Aegopodium; Carum, Heracleum sphondylium; Pastinaca, Seseli) but Blackman & Eastop consider the possibility of confusion with the similar and omnipresent Aphis fabae.
