this subspecies of A. fabae is the only one that performs its complete life cycle on spindle tree without host alternation.

Many authors, including Blackman & Eastop, see an autonomous species Aphis evonymi; this site however sticks for the nomenclature to the Aphid Species File. According to the Fauna Europaea (2014), the much used orthography euonymi is incorrect.
