Aphis oenotherae Oestlund, 1887
on Baccharis, Epilobium, Oenothera
parasite
Almost all material that until 2007 was attributed to this species has turned out after the study of Rakauskas to belong to A. holoenotherae; the distinction is entirely microscopical. The true oenotherae, probably introduced from North America, seems to be restricted to southern Europe.
host plants
Asteraceae, Onagraceae, polyphagous
Baccharis halimifolia; Epilobium dodonaei, hirsutum; Oenothera biennis, lamarckiana.
