Apterae ± 2 mm, very dark green slightly shiny, with antennal segment III and basal parts of tibiae whitish. In colonies at stem bases and on radical leaves.

Probably Aphis seselii Bozko is a synonym of A. umbelliferarum, but umbellferarum in its turn may well be a synonym of A. selini (cf Blackman & Eastop).
