Leaves disfigured by aphids living at the underside. The aphids are translucent pale green or yellow, often with two brighter green length stripes; length 1.6-2.5 mm. Antennae 2 x cauda. No host plant alternation.

In many regions Cirsium oleraceum is the main host plant.
