Apterae 1-2 mm, straw to bright yellow (or green at low temperatures) with dusky transverse intersegmental markings. On leaf blades, often forming large colonies, not attended by ants.
Outside of Europe known from many more species of Poaceae, and even Cyperaceae.

Recently found in Spain and Macaronesia.
