In spring compact colonies covered in white wax wool on shoots near base of trunk. Progeny of the fundatrix are all alate, ± 4 mm, with smoky yellowish abdomen, migrating in May.

Vitis vinifera.

Whether these root aphid indeed belong to P. oleae has yet to be confirmed.
