Aphids, resembling those of E. brevipilosus: greenish shine, with small black sclerites; surprisingly slender and swift. They live scattered on the needles, less often on the twigs, mainly on old trees. Often found together with Schizolachnus species. No host plant alternation, sometimes ant attendance.
