Adult female oval, 3 x 4 mm, greenish yellow, covered in white to grey mealy wax, with 18 pairs of short marginal wax filaments. They produce a long, woolly white ovisac, usually on the bark; adults often drop off once the ovisac is fully formed. Scales both on the leaves and on the branches.
