Scales mainly at the undersides of the leaves. Contrary to most mealybugs the female has no lateral or terminal filaments.

Araujia sericifera; Aucuba japonica; Bougainvillea glabra; Cestrum nocturnum; Buddleja; Justicia “suberecta”; Myoporum laetum; Solanum vespertilio.

Mostly found on Bougainvillea.


South American species, since 2005 in Europe; the species has quickly colonised most of southern Europe; also in greenhouses.
