Adelges geniculatus (Ratzeburg, 1844)
gall
gall
According to PESI (2017) this species occurs only in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In the German-language literature it is described as a serious pest on Larix decidua.
However, the status is this species is far from clear. Börner takes A. geniculatus as an invalid mix of Adelges laricis and Sacchiphantes viridis. The description of the damage to the needles by Perny indeed strongly reminds the description that is given by Carter when discussing S. viridis. Blackman & Eastop provisionally refuse to accept the species as such.
