Eryngiophaga hungarica Klimaszewski, 1968
on Bupleurum
gall
leaf segments rolled in upwards; inside a flattened, along its margins silvery fringed, larva. In all probability, this description applies to both species mentioned above.
host plants
Apiaceae, monophagous
Bupleurum falcatum.
synonyms
Trioza bupleuri Buhr, 1964.
notes
Buhr described T. bupleuri on the base of a planned, but never actually published, paper by W. Wagner, Inadvertently, this resulted in the description of a new species. Buhr’s description is valid from a nomenclatural point (he spent a few words on the aspect of the larva), but insufficient for a recognition of the species involved.
