mostly terminal, smooth gall, that develops from the base of a bud; the bud itself shrivels, a remnant may still be visible. The gall is lignified, weakly swollen with an impressed tip, indistinctly 4-5-lobed, obviously not wrapped in bud scales. Each lobe ends in a small point, often with length grooves.

very thin-walled, ovoid or conical bud gall, 2-2.5 mm long 2, almost always single; the lower half is hidden by bud scales. Its surface is brown, nearly smooth, without striation and with a short, deciduous pubescence. The tip is pointed, not rounded.
