Aylax hypecoi Trotter, 1913
on Hypecoum
gall
The fruit of Hypecoum consist of a cylindrical pod, that falls apart in one-seeded partial fruits. One to five of these partial fruits can be transformed into a small, unilocular gall, while the other partial segments develop into much larger normal partial fruits. Galls in which a male wasp develops are clearly smaller than “female” galls.
