weak swelling of a young shoot, up to 1.5 cm long, with smooth bark; often several galls in a row. The gall is unilocular, larva solitary. Hibernation probably within the gall. Univoltine.

Third abdominal segment with 3 dorsal annulets. Suranal plate without pseudocerci.
