Hinatara recta: young mine on Acer platanoides

Large, very transparent blotch in the tip of a leaf segment of a very young and tender leaf. The mine begins upon the leaf margin. Frass in dispersed grains. Pupation outside the mine. Vacated mines shrivel strongly.

Acer campestre, platanoides.

Mainly on young plants (Altenhofer & Pschorn-Walcher, 1998a).


Larvae in May-June (Hering, 1957a).


BE recorded (Boevé ao, 2009a; Ravoet & Ellis, 2010a).

NE Found in 2018 by Wouter Bosgra (foto hierboven).

LUX recorded (Chevin, Ellis & Schneider, 2011a).

From Sweden and the Baltic States to the Pyrenees, Alps and Bulgaria (Fauna Europaea, 2008).



Fenusella recta. Before c. 1940 often confused with Fenusella hortulana (cf Stritt 1944a).
