Fenella monilicornis (Dahlbom, 1835)
Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae
mine
So far known the mine cannot de distinguished from that of F. minuta, living on the same hostplant. The imago differs from that of F. minuta in having 14-16 antennal segments, rather than 12-14 (Hering, 1957a).
hostplants
Geraniaceae, monophagous
Geranium sylvaticum.
F. minuta has been found in Finland, where G. sylvaticum is unknown; probably therefore some other Geranium-species are suitable as well (Viramo, 1969a).
BENELUX
not known in the Benelux, not to be expected either.
distribution within Europe
From the UK to Poland and from Norway to Italy; boreo-alpine species (Fauna Europaea, 2007; Hering, 1957a; Roller, Beneš, Blank ao, 2006a).
