Transparant blotch, starting at the leaf margin, quickly turning brown. Frass in scattered grains. Pupation outside the mine.

According to Liston & Späth (2004a) only records from P. tremula are trustworthy.

NE Not in van Ooststroom’s (1976a) checklist of Dutch sawflies; occupied mines have been found in Nieuwendam that may belong to this species.

From Sweden ad Finland to the Pyrenees, Italy and Slovenia, and from Britain to well into Russia (Fauna Europaea, 2008).
