Large, very transparent blotch in the tip of a leaf segment of a very young and tender leaf. The mine begins upon the leaf margin. Frass in dispersed grains. Pupation outside the mine. Vacated mines shrivel strongly.

Mainly on young plants (Altenhofer & Pschorn-Walcher, 1998a).
