Gall sausage-shaped, 13-16 x 3 mm, ± equally protruding at both sides of the leaf. The gall is red (underside paler), dull, smooth, often with several constrictions and swellings. Mostly at one side of the leaf only.

Third abdominal segment with 4 dorsal annulets. Suranal plate with widely separated pseudocerci.
