Young larvae live gregariously in a small hypophyllous blotch mine; later they live free on the leaf.

Dennstaedtiaceae, Dryopteridaceae, Woodsiaceae: narrowly polyphagous

Athyrium filix-femina; Dryopteris filix-mas; Polystichum setiferum; Pteridium aquilinum.

An occupied mine was found July, 20th.
