In autumn a short mine that descends into the leaf base, upwon which the larva feeds throughout the winter on the rhizome. Also the young larvae of the second generation shouls make “a small mine”.

Hering (1957a) writes of two generations, with living larvae in autumn and in June, but according to Gielis (1996a) moths fly only in July and August, which implies a single generation.
