Selania leplastriana malcolmiae (Walsingham, 1903)

Lepidoptera, Tortricidae

mine

In the description of the typical subspecies by Bradley ao (1979a) nothing is said about a mining habit. However, according to Hering (1957a) the larvae of this subspecies would live as stem borers in their first generation, but the larvae of the second generation would facultatively mine broad galleries or blotches; the larva frequently moves to a new mine; most frass is ejected.
