Coleophora amethystinella Ragonot, 1885
coast green case-bearer
The young larvae eats the unripe seed in a pod, cuts it loose, next uses it as a temporary case to feed on new pods. Only in its last instar it spins, within its pod, a “real”, trivalved case.
Fabaceae, narrowly monophagous
The larva is full fed in end July.
