Straw-coloured pistol case, up to 16 mm long, with a pallium no longer than 1/4 – 1/5 of the case. Mouth angle 45°.
Astracantha echinus; Astragalus albicaulis, onobrychis, vesicarius; Medicago prostrata var. glandulifera; Ononis spinosa subsp. antiquorum.

Larvae from autumn till June the following year.
BENELUX
Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
distribution within Europe
Disjunct distribution: at the one hand the Iberian Peninsula, at the other northern Russia, Hungary, Ukraine, Serbia, Macedonia (Fauna Europaea, 2009).

Baldizzone ao (2004a) synomymize with this species also C. paraspumosella Toll, 1957; on the basis of the picture of the case of the latter species in Toll (1962a) this surprising: the pallium reaches here almost to the mouth.
