Coleophora graminicolella Heinemann, 1877

on Silene

case

The case has not been described; presumably it is a tubular silken case (Patzak). The larva attaches its case to the side of a fruit and penetrates, closes the opening on top with silk and feeds on the ripening seeds; it probably needs several capsules for its development (Leutsch).

host plants

Caryophyllaceae, (narrowly?) monophagous

Silene viscaria.
