Blotch that extends to the tip of the leaf. During feeding pauses the larva retreats into a central part of the mine that is lined with silk, which causes the leaf to contract here. Here also the pupation takes place.
Adults from mid-April to mid-June, and from end-August to end-October.

Body grey to greenish brown, with whitish length lines; head dark brown, prothoracic plate light brown with dark margin.
