Brownish, somewhat opaque, full depth blotch, mostly beginning in the leaf tip or near the midrib. Most frass in a dense mass in the first section of the mine.

larva

Pale yellow, head capsule brown; just before pupation, when the larva measues 6 – 6.m mm, it turns red.
