Reference to Salvia are the result of misidentification. The mine on S. officinalis that is illustrated by Klimesch (1942a) probably belongs to Vulcaniella cognatella (Koster & Sinev, 2003a).

Larvae from autumn till May (Hering, 1957a).

BENELUX

Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).

From France, the Baltic States and the Ukraine till tor Mediterranean (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
