BENELUX
Uncertain. Both from the Netherlands and Belgium E. cingillella has been reported; without a revision of that material the possibility remains that in fact these records refer E. metella, that as late as in 2002 has been split off by Kaila & Junnulainen
distribution within Europe
From France to Bulgaria, and from Czechia and Slovakia to Italy (Fauna Europaea, 2011).
synonyms
All references to E. cingillella from southern Europe in fact concern metella; the illustrations of the adult moths and the male genitalia of cingillella Traugott-Olsen & Nielsen (1977a) refer to metella.
