Egg oval, with a few length ribs, near the leaf base. Mine begins a short corridor, followed, and often overrun, by a large flat blotch that expands towards the leaf margin. Frass in scattered large, blackish lumps.
Larvae from late June to mid-August (Traugott-Olsen & Nielsen, 1977a); in Württemberg till October (Wörz, 1957a).
Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
