Egg oval, with a few length ribs, near the leaf base. Mine begins a short corridor, followed, and often overrun, by a large flat blotch that expands towards the leaf margin. Frass in scattered large, blackish lumps.

phenology

Larvae from late June to mid-August (Traugott-Olsen & Nielsen, 1977a); in Württemberg till October (Wörz, 1957a).

BENELUX

Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).

distribution within Europe

From Sweden and Finland to the Pyrenees and Italy, and from France to the Baltic States and Romania (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
