Egg oval, with 7 length ribs, at the leaf underside, well removed from the margin, sometimes against the midrib. Mine a corridor, abruptly widening into, and often overrun by, a blotch. Frass more or less fills the corridor; in the blotch it is distributed along the sides. Up to three mines in a leaf. Pupation outside the mine; exit slit in lower epidermis.

Probabyl bivoltine; larvae, collected in June and July produced adults in July and August.
