Initially a more or less tortuous gallery with brown frass. This widens into a full depth, very transparant, elongate blotch with a central accumulation of black frass. Mines mostly in the lower leaves.

Larvae in June and September (Hering, 1957a).
BENELUX
Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2010).
distribution within Europe
Central Europe; because possibly a number of records in fact refer to the recently described Chr. verrucosa the distribution is not well known.
