Scrobipalpa voltinella (Chr├ętien, 1898)

Lepidoptera, Gelechiidae

Large blotch in the basal leaves; frass massed in the oldest part of the mine. Pupation external.

hostplants

Asteraceae, oligophagous?

Rhaponticum coniferum; Tanacetum corymbosum.

Hering (1957a) remarks that the two hostplants mentioned taxonomically are so widely separated that it is improbable that the same miner occurs in both species.

Larvae in March – April, but Huemer & Karsholt (2010a) have indications for a second, later, generation.

distribution within Europe

Southern France, Spain, Serbia (Fauna Europaea, 2010).
