Epidermal corridor, lower- or upper-surface. The corridor widens into a narrow tentiform mine, usually close to the leaf margin. After having vacated the mine the larva lives in a leaf roll.
host plants
Juglandaceae, oligophagous
Buhr found the mines also on Pterocarya fraxinifolia, mainly on the numerous suckers.
phenology
Larvae in June-July and August-September (Hering, 1957a).

BE Until shortly only known from the provinces of Antwerpen and Brabant, on the basis of records from before 1980 (De Prins, 1998a); in 2004 found back in Brabant, and seen after 2004 in Antwerpen, West-Vlaanderen and Limburg (De Prins & Steeman, 2007).
NE recorded (Ellis, 2011).
LUX not recorded (Fauna Europaea, 2008).
