Pupa with rear margin of mesothorax with a pit; cremaster with two pairs of heavy spines, the outer pair curved outwards, the inner pair inwards (Gregor & Patočka, 2001a; Patočka & Turčáni, 2005a; Triberti, 2007a).

The identification of the moth that emerged from th exuvium pictured above is not 100% certain; the possibility remains that it handles about Ph. mespilella that both as pupa and moth is difficult to separate from blancardella.
