Platanus hispanica, Hungary, Mosonmagyaróvár, 2.vi.2018 © László Érsek: larva dorsal
Platanus acerifolia, Diemen: the larva is colourless and transparent. Note also the two types of frass: small, light brown granules scattered throughout the mine, and larger blackish brown grains in an elongate clump. The light spots are windows the larva has eaten in the palissade parenchyma, the “roof” of the mine.
See Grandi (1931a) and Principi (1953a) for a description of the larva.
