Fleck mine; hole not precisely round, margin without a fringe of stubbles of bitten silk. (Contary to Coleophora species, Apterona‘s do not secure their case by fixing it with silk during feeding episodes.) Larva in a helicoidal case; convolutions very shallow.

Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).

Spain (Fauna Europaea, 2009); recorded by Maček (1999a) from Slovenia, but that seems improbable.
