Digitivalva solidaginis (Staudinger, 1859)
Corridor, followed by a large, ful depth blotch. Frass in the corridor in a central line, in the blotch scattered. Pupation outside the mine.
Asteraceae, oligophagous (monophagous ?)
According to the original description living on Solidago virgaurea; Hering (1963a), however, reared the species from Dittrichia viscosa. Because both species have some resemblance in vegetative condition possibly the latter is the only correct hostplant. At the other hand the two plant genera are relatively closely related.
Larvae in June (1957a).
