part of the young larvae make a short, often arc-shaped gallery in a cladode (“leaf”) with greenish, later black frass that partly is extruded. Later they bore in the stem, with other larvae that are stem-borers from their start on. If the plant is in fruit the final-stage larvae also bore in the fruits.
