Ectoedemia rubivora (Wocke, 1860)
Rubus fruticosus, Duin en Kruidberg
Rubus spec, Schiermonnikoog: leaf with several young mines © Dik Vonk
Egg at the underside of the leaf. The mine is a highly contorted gallery, strongly widening towards the end. Frass in the second half of the gallery dispersed. The larve mines venter upwards. Mostly several mines in a leaf.
Rubus arcticus, caesius, chamaemorus, fruticosus, saxatilis.
Apparently not on R. idaeus (Johansson ao, 1990a) (but see Maček, 1999a)
At several sites in the Netherlands where E. rubivora was common, vacated mines have been found on Agrimonia eupatoria that strongly resembled those of E. rubivora; they certainly did not belong to E. agrimoniae, a species that does not occur in the Netherlands (van Nieukerken ea, 2010a).
Larvae in late September and October.
BE recorded (Phegea, 2009).
NE recorded (Kuchlein & de Vos, 1999a; Microlepidoptera.nl, 2009).
LUX not recorded (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
distribution within Europe
From Fennoscandia to the Pyrenees, Italy, and Serbia, and from Ireland to Central Russia and the Ukraine (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
