Oviposition at the underside of the leaf, often near a vein (mostly the midrib). The mine begins as a delicate corridor, entirely filled with frass. Later it widens more blotchlike; here the frass lies in a diffuse line that is 1/3rd tot 1/4th of the width of the corridor.
