
Betula pubescens, Belgium, prov. Namur, Bois de Pétigny; living larva in the mine; the brown ventral ganglia are well visible
The larva is bright yellow with a yellowish brown head and a brown spot on the prothorax. The ganglia of the ventral nervous system are conspicuous. The larva lies venter-downwards in the mine. SCS Brown (1947a) and Gustafsson & van Nieukerken (1990a) give a description of the larva.
