Mines identical to those of suberivora (Egg at the upper side of the leaf. The mine is an irregular, broad corridor with a conspicuous, broad, black frass line that almost fills the gallery, leaving only a narrow transparent zone at either side. Pupation external.) However, at least in the thick leaves of Q. ilex subsp. rotundifolia the mines are interparenchymatous.
