tips of the shoots unhealthy, with shortened internodes. Underside of the leaves with a greyish purplish-brown fungal cover of 0.9 mm high erect conidiophores that apically several times are branching, each branch ending in a conidium of 8-27 x 14-40 µm.

Klenke & Scholler consider P. lathyri-palustris als een jonger synoniem van senneniana a junior synonym of senneniana; however, the Index Fungorum (2015) still takes the two separate.
