tips of the shoots unhealthy, with shortened internodes. Underside of the leaves with a greyish white to purplish-brown fungal cover of 0.7 mm high erect conidiophores that apically several times are branching, each branch ending upon a conidium.

the Index Fungorum (2016) considers P. trifolii-arvensis a mere junior synonym of P. trifoliorum.
