stems with a white cover, at first shiny, later powdery. Parts of the plant may become disfigured. Embedded in the underlying plant tissue lie brown oospores, with a reticulate wall sculpture.

observed in gardens in the UK; may be expected on Carpobrotus edulus, that is massively planted as on ornamental, and locally invasive, in southern Europe.
