Resembles D. arunudinacea, but the infection is localised, not systemic, and the fungus does not cover almost the entire leaf, but is restricted to some mm wide, and up to 2 cm long brown to dark brown spots. Mature conidia of arundinacea are cone-shaped and 2-septate, those of roumeguerei are ovate, 1-septate.
